I'm trying to buy my first monitor to connect to my Mac AirBook. I was told I need a USBC connection. Is that the case, and how can I tell in the advertised monitors whether or not it has that type of connection? Everything says HDMI. Also, do I need to buy a Thunderbolt 4 for the best connectivity? Thank you!
Hey!
Some monitors will be advertised as having DisplayPort over USB-C, or even just "USB-C Connectivity". Most monitors do not have this, however. I've found that most folks tend to simply purchase a HDMI to USB C adapter (such as the one linked below) and use whichever monitor they choose.
You don't need to purchase Thunderbolt for the best connectivity when it comes to displays. The displays that require Thunderbolt will specifically state this, and will come with the required connections for it :)
Hope this helps!
