Can I upgrade an older ASUS Laptop K50IJ HDD to a 1TB SSD? Feasible? What would it cost?

Hello to all. I am thinking about upgrading my old ASUS K50IJ laptop hard drive with a solid state drive. The old HDD is a 300GB and I'd like to up the storage to 1TB SSD. The processor is a 2.0 Gigahertz Pentium Dual Core T4200, with 4 megabytes of memory. It is running Windows 10 Home (x64). I am looking to replace the drive myself. The laptop runs extremely slow even though I've defrag'd and optomised the existing drive. It's an older computer, but I use it in the livingroom to cruise the net, etc. I'm not interrested in a new laptop, just want to get more life out of the laptop. If it is feasible, what inexpensive SSD drive could I install and approximately what would it all cost? I am not in the market to buy a new laptop, just more mileage.

Thanks in advance!

Michael
