If I wanted to change out a component of a bundle, can I get the same deal by paying the difference?

Example: A Mobo/CPU combo comes with 'free' RAM. I wish to use a higher capacity per-module variant (same spec, manufacturer, model); can I still get the combo discount, and simply pay the difference in retail between the smaller and larger modules?

I checked through forums and your terms of sale and could not find anything specific to this
