I want to build a super fast computer that has a ton of disk space. I'm zeroing in on 7950X3D for the cpu.
Since "pcie 5 nvme ssd" is so much faster than anything else, I want my os to run on it. I was thinking 2tb for the "c" drive would be good.
If I could find a motherboard that has four pcie5 nvme slots, I could use the other three slots for 2tb drives, 8 tb in all. That's my assumption at least.
Are there any motherboards that fit this description? Any feedback welcome.
Onboard you are likely not going to find one that supports more than 2, The Asus Crosshair X670E Hero will do 2 onboard and then you can add a third on a PCIe card in slot 16_2 which will force your video card to 8X in 16_1 slot.
thanks @Vaganza. If I disable "compatibility" when selecting a motherboard with 7950x3c in the pc builder, I see this one with three pcie 5 slots: MSI - X670E MEG ACE AMD AM5 eATX
Would that work? Not sure what the compatibility issue would be.
It will force your 16X slots to 8X if you want to use all 3 options.
