We purchased the PowerSpec Desktop B686 a few months ago and have consistently had issues with trying to connect to our TMobile 5G Gateway.
We cannot select "connect automatically" for the TMobile Gateway as we always get the Microsoft Watch_Dog_Violation. Currently we do not have any internet selected to "connect automatically."
We can connect to our other internet provider (DSL) without issues. We haven't cancelled that provider becausewe cannot get the 5G to work properly.
We have figured out that if we first connect to the DSL, then disconnect from the DSL and then select the TMobile 5G gateway, it will connect. It seems the connection issue may be on startup???
I have checked the Microcenter support page for driver updates for this computer and there are none.
This is the wireless connector: Realtek 8821CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC
Any help or feedback would be much appreciated.
@RCC501
You've found a compatibility issue with between that wireless card and a specific router. I'll upload an updated driver tomorrow for you to try.
Please try the attached driver and see if the issue still occurs.
Sorry for the late reply. It looks like the updated driver you provided has worked.
We appreciate the help!!!
Thanks for letting us know. It's difficult to catch an issue like this, but now that we know about it we can push a driver out for the system on Windows Update.
