Acer Aspire 5

Hello, everyone!

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5, i7 core in Dec. 2022 from the St. Davids store. Awesome people to deal with! I mainly just run my QuickBooks with it. 2 days ago it would not boot, no lights, nothing. I took to the service dept. at St. Davids, and presto it booted!! Nothing appeared to be wrong. The tech was really pleasant to deal with, advised me to NOT leave it on, and plugged in, but rather shut it down when finished, and run on the battery until it needs charging. Done. Booted fine early this morning, but now once again, nothing. It is fully charged. Please advise!

I am not a tech-savvy person, just looking for some answers.

TIA, Bruce

    Greetings,

I'd recommend trying a power cycle on your device -

Here is how to Power Cycle your computer:

    1. Turn off your computer
    2. Unplug the power cable to the computer from the back
    3. Hold the power button of your computer while it is unplugged for 30 seconds and then release
    4. Plug the power cable back into the computer
    5. Power on the computer
    6. Check for any changes

If this seems to help, I'd recommend ensuring you are selecting "Sleep" or "Shut Down" from within Windows before closing your laptop lid when not in use!
