Ryzen 9 - 16 Core v 12 Core?
I am looking at building a computer with a Ryzen 9. I was going with the 7900X CPU, but was reading about the 5950X. I know the 5950X is older, but has 16 cores v 12. The 7900X uses DDR5, which I strongly prefer. I welcome the thoughts of those who have more experience and knowledge than do I. I am a noob at building.

While my 5950x is just great, I got it almost 2 years ago. If I were buying a brand new system there's no real reason to get the retiring AM4 platform except a super tight budget.

What's your intended use for the PC?
