Planning to replace my graphics card soon
Hi all,
Currently, my graphics card is https://www.microcenter.com/product/616156/NVIDIA_GeForce_GTX_1660_Super_Ventus_XS_Overclocked_Dual-Fan_6GB_GDDR6_PCIe_30_Graphics_Card?MccGuid=23d2b723-e310-4459-acc3-646dbcc0a4fd which Micro Center doesn't even sell anymore. I'd prefer something around the same price (it was 435 when I got it last year) and preferably two fans - I don't know if a 3 fan one would fit in my case or not.
My motherboard probably needs an upgrade too because the one I have now apparently can't update to Windows 11 and it'd be nice to have one with built-in wifi. The one I have now doesn't, and I didn't realize that at the time, so I had to buy a Wi-Fi Bluetooth dongle thing. My motherboard right now is this: https://www.microcenter.com/product/624548/B550-PLUS_TUF_Gaming_AMD_AM4_ATX_Motherboard?MccGuid=23d2b723-e310-4459-acc3-646dbcc0a4fd Again, looking for something around the same price point, which was 149.
(This is why it says I can't upgrade to 11, but I'm not sure if this is a motherboard or a CPU thing - I'm a computer newb and had help building parts and buying all this).
My CPU is this: https://www.microcenter.com/product/674512/amd-ryzen-5-5600g-cezanne-39ghz-6-core-am4-boxed-processor-wraith-stealth-cooler-included?rd=1 in case y'all need that info for compatibility issues.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. 😊

You just need to enable TPM in the BIOS.
- Delete to enter BIOS.
- Advanced - AMD fTPM Configuration - TPM Device Selection = Firmware TPM.
- Save and exit.
-
@PowerSpec_MikeW Thanks, at least I have that sorted now :)
-
@PowerSpec_MikeW I had to undo that Firmware TPM change. It seems like doing that caused some serious issues with my Bluetooth mouse and headset.
-
That's odd, all it's going to do is enable the TPM module. What kind of issues are you seeing?

@PowerSpec_MikeW I was getting my Bluetooth randomly going all wonky every couple of minutes - garbled audio galore. But I think that had to do with one of my Bluetooth drivers acting weird. I uninstalled them and re-installed and it seems okay now. Ignore me lol. I'll see if re-enabling that causes it again, because if so that is utterly bizarre.
Edit: Yeah, seems like it's one of my Bluetooth drivers. It was working fine for a bit after the uninstall/re-install and now the issue is back. It seems to be an issue with the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" in "Other Devices" because Windows keeps saying it "couldn't update the driver." Problem is, I'm not sure what device that is. I assume it must be the headphones, but I'm uncertain as to why that couldn't update, but the actual device in "Bluetooth" in Device Manager says it's fine. The headphones themselves are this: https://www.microcenter.com/product/644812/cleer-alpha-active-noise-cancelling-wireless-bluetooth-headphones-midnight-blue
....I've gotten off track with my initial question about graphics cards lol. But this is driving me nuts.

I'm putting this thread on hiatus as I try to troubleshoot

Did you check the motherboard manufacturer's website for a BIOS update? It might fix those issues.
As for a graphics card, this looks like the best 2 fan model in your price range and would be amazing paired with your 5600X CPU : MSI AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT Mech 2X Dual Fan 12GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card - Micro Center
