PowerSpec ATX 206 RGB Control
PowerSpec ATX 206 Chassis RGB Control
The new PowerSpec ATX 206 chassis includes two 160mm fans with separate controls for the inner fans and the outer rings. These can be controlled separately, bound together, or the RGB control can be synchronized to the motherboard.
To change the fan RGB settings, first we should get familiar with the controls.
There are two sets of two buttons on top of the chassis. The inner fan control is on the left and the outer ring control is on the right. Note the icon is different between the two.
Inner Fan Control:
Outer Ring Control:
The M changes the RGB mode. The C button changes the color. Holding both M buttons for five seconds will synchronize the inner fan and the outer ring. Holding both of the M buttons for five more seconds will disable the synchronization. Holding one of the M buttons for five seconds will enable motherboard sync mode. Pressing either M button for five seconds while in motherboard sync mode will exit sync mode and return control to the front buttons.
Hardware and Connections:
The RGB controller has three different connections: SATA power, RGB out, and motherboard sync.
The fans have two connectors: RGB source and a daisy-chain lead.
Troubleshooting:
If the buttons do not change the front fans or the front fans do not light up, follow these steps to get your lights working:
The fans light, but do not change using the buttons:
This can be caused by incorrect wiring. Make sure the RGB leads from the front fans are connected to the top front panel controls using the RGB out to fans connector.
The RGB controller may be in motherboard sync mode. Hold one of the M buttons for five seconds to exit motherboard sync mode.
The fans do not light and pressing the buttons has no effect:
The SATA power connector may not be connected to the system power supply. Check the connection to verify it is attached properly.
The fan RGB connector may have been disconnected from the controller. Check the RGB leads from the front fans to ensure they are properly connected.
The RGB controller may be in motherboard sync mode and the motherboard LEDs are disabled. Hold one of the M buttons for five seconds to exit motherboard sync mode.
