I have a G714 purchased 6/14/2023
Since the start, I've had issues with the cold starts and random BSODs both in games and just when idle.
Tested with the lasted MSI BIOS 7D78v192(Beta version) 2023-10-17. Which did finally mostly solve the Cold reboot issues. Since purchasing each BIOS revision (from MSI or MC) did help with stability, but BSODs continued.
On 11/02/23, I Finally Memtest86ed my ram and both sticks threw errors. together and individually.
It failed with X-AMP and even at stock ram speeds.
Tried the Microcenter BIOS E7D78AZ1.1MC dated 11/10/23. same issues with BSODs or random reboots. Failing tests for X-AMP and at stock speeds
For both of the newer BIOSs I increased DRAM voltage from 1.2V to 1.25V but still issue remain.
Do I have bad sticks or a weak memory controller?
@NotPiioon
Bad stick seems more likely. Repeat Memtest86 with a single stick installed. Test 8 should produce an error the fastest with a bad module.
I tested each stick by itself,
F5-5600J3636C16GX2-RS5W Stick Serial Number ending in 04 failed MemTest86 on tests 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 on the first pass at stock speed.
second stick S/N ending in 03 was okay with one pass at stock, but failed on test 8 on pass 2 when enabling X-AMP. Passes 1,3,4 completed okay.
Strange to see any failures in on test 8 where it's IMC related. Could provide the product code on each of those sticks? It's under the model. I want to see what IC/PMIC you have then we can work on getting a replacement. Either a CPU or RAM.
Samsung die with an Anpec PMIC, I recognize it. I sent you an email. Please reply when you have time.
