You could disable the onboard and add in a higher end WIFI card, though if that's worthwhile depends on why you're having these issues and the capabilities of your router. Lets go over a few things first.
- You're connected to a 5GHz network?
- Your antennas are securely attached to the rear I/O?
- Is your signal strength good?
-
yes im connected to 5ghz, antennas mounted and good signal. thanks for info. and what wifi card would you recommend. other pc s in house have killer speed
-
You could try disabling AC on the device, just to see if the speed changes. The device should basically match or exceed your router. Something like this is a generic recommendation: https://www.microcenter.com/product/649826/asus-ax1800-pcie-wifi-adapter-(pce-ax1800)
Disable the WIFI/Bluetooth in your BIOS, then install the card.

tyvm sir. dont know why they would build such a good product and then put this onboard. lol tc
-
Could be a router compatibility issue. It's a basic adapter, but you should be able to do 433Mbps with an AC router on the 5GHz band.
-
tyvm for info . i bought pcie card you suggested and bam. 360 Mps vs 60-70 Mps now my machine is screaming
-
What router did you have? I can look into it. To be capping out at 50Mbps means for some reason that WIFI card was only able to get a 20Mhz channel width. With an AC router, it should be able to do 80Mhz and that would get you much higher speeds. 433 max.

SAX1V1R Spectrum WiFi 6 Router

I'll see what I can do, but that's a rough one. OEM router that's heavily locked down with just Spectrums app to modify the settings.

no biggie. new card is cruising. not a fan of onboard anything. lol tyvm and tc
