Intel or AMD? I would argue AMD right now.
If anyone is looking at a new PC, I would strongly encourage you get an AM5 AMD system. Intel is changing sockets for the next gen desktop CPUs which means you will not be able to upgrade to new gens with a current gen motherboard. AM4 lasted 6 years ish, AM5 will give you plent of cheap upgrade options going forward, plus the X3D chips with the stacked/extra L3 cache are huge for 1080p and 1440p gaming.

As a sales associate, I mostly agree with this except when it comes to video encoding, as Intel's Quick Sync video functionality is arguably better that AMD's VCN for on processor encoding for applications like Plex.
