Second M.2 Ultra slot not working

There are two M.2 Ultra slots on the motherboard. One contains the M.2 NVMe SSD 2TB hard drive. The other slot was empty so I installed an initialized 1TB M.2 SSD but Disk Management does not recognize the drive.

How do I get the second M.2 Ultra slot working?

The system is a PowerSpec G-433 with the following options:

• Intel Core i7-9700KF Processor 3.6GHz
• NVIDIA RTX 2080 8GB GDDR6
• 32 GB DDR4 RAM (upgraded from orig 16 GB)
• 2 TB NVME SSD (upgraded from orig 500 GB)
• Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (upgraded from orig Win 10 Pro)

The motherboard is an ASROCk Z390 Pro 4.

A few questions for you.

1. Are there any SATA drives connected?
2. Does the drive show up in the BIOS? Delete to enter BIOS, it should show all the drives on the EZ Mode. F6.
3. What model is the drive you added?

Wooohooo. I had an external drive connected via USB C. I disconnected that, shut down, then installed the M.2 into the slot, then restarted and now the drive shows up in BIOS and Windows.
