Question regarding Intel laptop returns

Hello,

I purchased a 13th gen i7 intel machine, and with all of the reports of defective cpus and failures from Intel I am concerned about the machine's reliability as it has exhibited slow downs/shutdowns.

Is there any option for return/exchanges for a machine outside of the 15 day window?

Hello! Not all processors were affected for this, however, if you do believe there may be some issues with your device we can certainly take a look at this for you in store by stress testing it! We offer a walk-in service so an appointment is not required. Our Technicians are available Monday-Saturday from 10am-9pm and Sundays from 11am-6pm.

However, if you’d still like to let us know when you plan to arrive you can schedule a service appointment here: https://service.microcenter.com/ServiceRepairSignUp/Reservation/Create

  • Thank you for your response,

If I bring in a degraded cpu for stress testing it will just degrade it further, is there any way to apply a warranty or similar plan to this device? If not I'll probably just investigate going the lemon law route.

For a protection plan to be purchased for a CPU it would need to be within 30 days of the original purchased and our team in store would need to test it to ensure that there are no issues with the item. In this case it would not be eligible for a plan if there are hardware problems. If the device is under warranty I highly recommend bringing it in for testing
