Need Help Choosing Parts

Hi. I'm looking into PC building for the first time. My budget is about $1100 but can allow some wiggle room.

I want a PC for running heavy tasks with Adobe Creative Applications and multitask between several apps, such as Spotify, google, discord, excel, and I want it to be seamless and as smooth as possible. I hardly game, but whenever I do, I want it to handle like a champ and last me a long time. Maybe in the future, I'd want to swap parts out, so I want something future proof.

I'm not exactly sure where to start and how to choose specs from all the options there are. What makes an Intel CPU different from an AMD? Or a Nvidia GPU compared to an Intel one or AMD one? I don't want to spend money for things I won't use.

For Adobe Creative Applications, I would highly recommend going with an Intel build.
