Please opine on my PC build for scientific computation
Hey guys,
I am looking to build a PC for scientific computations (windows 11). This is not GPU heavy but CPU heavy type of work. So, I am thinking of the following:
(1) AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7970X 350W SP6 - Zen 4 32-Core/64-Threads - 4.0 GHz/5.3GHz
(2) 128GB RAM
(3) two 8GB NVMe storage
I don't care about graphics card as long as it is able to connect to a decent monitor.
I do need a good mother board, air cooled heat sink (as this is going to run 24x7), I do not like the liquid cooling and a good intranet speed.
So, what configuration should I use for above.
My budget is up to $10k.

Here is the list that I came up with for you within your 10k budget. I went with a 1TB OS drive for the programs that you'll be running with twin 8TB drives for the data sets.
