Trying to build PC for 1080p 144hz
Is this build overkill for 1080p any recommendations?

No, nothing you have is "overkill". The only thing I'd suggest would be possibly using a lower wattage PSU (750 is fine) if you're not planning on upgrading either the CPU or GPU. Lastly would be maybe adding another stick of ram bringing the rig to 32GB. Having 2 sticks will run smoother than a single stick but it's fine at the start.

It is an annoying bundle in that it only comes with one RAM module. You really should get a second. Also, that is the glass front case, which looks pretty, but has poor cooling. Consider something like the Corsair 4000 Airflow (or any other model with either "Airflow" or "Mesh" in the name).
