Water - Family spilled about 1/4 cup of water on Desktop that was below a desk ( Cup tipped over )

I have experience on upgrading components on machines and once the liquid was identified ( Machine was turned off quickly after water on the machine ), pulled components out of the Desktop Gaming build and wiped or let dry by a gas fireplace with fan on high for couple hours to evaporate any additional moisture, then did not attempt to start machine for 48 hours.

On attempting to start the machine, put all the components back in place and there is Zero power identified. Is there a switch or trip switch on the PowerSpecs that detect moisture that I need to reset or is the Power Supply toast? The Power Supply is PS750BSM.

No, if it was tripped discharging it would fix it. Is there a click from the PSU or anything else happening when you try to turn it on?

You could short the PSU on with a jumper to see if it's fully dead. Or you can get a PSU tester. You would need to work from the PSU backwards and see which components were damaged.

  • Mike, thank you for your touch. I just moved the machine to another location, plugged it in and it's running. PSU is loose, as I was trying to pull it out last evening, so I just plugged a couple cables back in, moved the machine to a quite location and boom. It's up and running.

Only additional changes I did from last evening was, another 12 hours of moisture evaporation, attempting to remove PSU ( which was unsuccessful do to location and my time to take more of the housing apart ). Took a power cord and move the machine only ( no other USB or monitors plugged in ) to see if I could hear a click.

Doing the above and some luck, the machine is up and running again..

Maybe you tripped the breaker on the outlet you were originally testing on.
