Will EMI/RFI Shielded Power Line Conditioners Help Stabilize a Verizon Connection While Streaming?

I game through a remote Shadow PC and recently took a deal offered by Verizon on their Gig fiber package (moved from Xfinity cable 800mbps). While overall latency has measurably improved (9-14ms from 19-24ms), audio transfer from my remote PC has become unstable and crackly unless I reduce the sound quality of the stream. While average latency was higher with the Xfinity connection, the latency graph was much more stable and I never experienced this issue; there seems to be more "noise" in the Verizon graph (I was even surprised by a couple packet drops, including one temporary connection loss). Is there a way to mitigate this instability while keeping the benefits of higher speed / upload? I've read on some forums that plugging in the Router to a good Power Line Conditioner can help with this, but is it worth the cost? Is there an easier solution?

Thank You

  • Greetings! This does sound like you are running into packet loss. I would double check to make sure the connection on the local network is stable, if it is I would recommend reaching out to Verizon to have them take a look!
