New PowerSpec G447 Gaming PC; Intel Core i9 12th Gen 12900K 3.2GHz, won't boot windows or Bios ?

Hi, recently purchased a new PowerSpec G447 Gaming PC; Intel Core i9 12th Gen 12900K 3.2GHz for my son and also baught him a new ssd to add ( SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink 2TB, PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280) to the system. So when he installed the drive, also updated the BIOS, then he couldn't find the drive and adjusted the bios … now it's blank (black) screen after every boot. Any suggestions or fixes on resolution? Its the MSI ( MSI Pro z790-P ) motherboard, not much online for powerspec settings / configuration for BIOS, but now… can't even get into it. Appreciate the help.

Lets clear CMOS first. JBAT1 pins on page 25 of the manual: https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/PROZ790-P_PROZ790-PWIFI.pdf

Short the pins with something conductive for 5 seconds.

Thank you for the response, that sounds easy but complicated. I will check out the mannual again. Is there an alternative to this process …. I may just take it back to microcenter since I just got this. We will see how it goes.

You can pull the coin cell battery out for 5 seconds.
