Mechanical vs Hybrid-Optical vs Optical Mice

I've had a Logitech G305 mouse for a little over a year and a half that sees a ton of use. Already I'm getting the dreaded "double click when I only clicked once" symptom that indicates something is wrong with the switches. My other Logitech mice were cheaper and lasted about as long. I really like Logitech mice, but I'm thinking pure mechanical mice just aren't making the cut anymore - I did some googling and it turns out the maker of a lot of mouse button switches, Omron, has seen quality control nosedive which is why a lot of mice are failing way before they're supposed to. Supposedly, optical switches don't fail at nearly the same rate as mechanical ones. Is this true?

I need a new mouse, and I'm looking at a couple of different Logitech G ones. But if anyone has some recommendations for non-Logitech ones, that's fine. I don't rely on PowerPlay wireless charging, so I'm flexible. I just need one that can withstand heavy daily use (I use it for gaming and just regular computer activities). I have small hands though, so part of my struggle is getting one that isn't oversized.
