Need Help Choosing Parts

PhD in need of high-performing PC for quantitative research

• New build or upgrade?
  • New build, I have never owned or built a PC before. (I'm a Mac user but I need to switch to PC because of my work needs, so any instructions on how to assemble the parts would be appreciated too!)
• Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
  • 1 monitor (HP 21.5" Silver & Black IPS LED Full HD FreeSync Monitor)
  • 1 bluetooth mouse + keyboard
• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
  • Do quantitative research/data analytics on statistical softwares such as Stata and SAS
  • Programming (Python) - mostly for web scraping and data analysis
  • I usually have to download and analyze large datasets (more than 100GB each), so I need a computer that can help me run these data tasks fast and reliably
  • I also need Windows and Microsoft Office Suites to write papers and present projects
  • No gaming or editing needs
• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
  • USA, yes I'm in New York City and have a few Micro Centers nearby
• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
  • 1 more monitor needed, around 22-25" will do, any decent resolution/refresh rate within budget is good
• Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
  • $3000-$3500 max
• WiFi or wired connection?
  • Wifi
• Size/noise constraints?
  • I don't want anything too bulky, but I think any standard PC case will do.
  • It'd be nice if we can make the PC not too noisy, because some of the tasks will take a few days to run and I'd prefer to have the machine running quietly (especially at night)
• Color/lighting preferences?
  • None, the simpler the better, I'm willing to save money on this category
• Any other specific needs?
  • I want to be able to plug in my headphones to this PC
  • Note: I have to collaborate with other researchers on projects, so my data will be stored both locally and on the clouds.
  • Since I have no PC-building knowledge, it would be nice if all the parts proposed are compatible for assembly.
