PowerSpec G721 Prebuilt Repeatedly Crashing

Bought a new PowerSpec G721 a couple months ago, and within the first week of owning it my computer started crashing at random intervals. I took it into my local MicroCenter branch in Cambridge, only to be told it wasn't a hardware issue and that it was software related. The only advice given to me was to factory reset. Started playing with a single monitor and it seemed better for a bit, then started crashing again. Downgraded from my 1440p 240hz monitor to my old 1080p 144hz, still crashed. Tried a different DP cable, still crashed. Updated bios, uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, repaired corrupted windows files, totally uninstalled/reinstalled windows, and finally went ahead and did a factory reset. None of those approaches stopped the crashing, and it is still happening. It could crash while loading a game, or even while simply browsing forums online trying to find a solution. Is this a bad mobo issue or a weak PSU issue for the specs? Surely I can't be the only person that bought this prebuilt series and is experiencing these issues? My first ever gaming PC was a Powespec G434 which I am still using to this day since my G721 won't stop crashing, so I know PowerSpec makes good products since this original is powering through still. I am just incredibly frustrated, and disappointed that I have had my G721 for over 2 months now and it isn't functional without crashing. I have done everything on my end, what more is there to do to resolve this situation?

PSU is fine, but could be defective. I'd expect restarts if that was the issue. What do you mean by crashing? Apps crash, BSOD's or the PC restarts?

  • apps crash, while others are running in the background. Both monitors (depending if I even have a second hooked up) will lose connection to the PC and stop being recognized resulting in black screens, one time it force restarted while every other time I can sit there with my black screen still listening/talking to friends in discord. The main app (game) I am on/using will crash. The only way to get my PC to recognize my monitors again is to hard shutdown. Event viewer just shows it as a EVENT ID 2 Kernel Power error. Computer is plugged directly into wall outlet, and it would still happen regardless of using my higher end monitor or my lowest quality 60hz which I would assume draws less power. After factory resetting, it still crashed while redownloading games. Any other useful information you need from me to discern the issue?

It's all over the place from the description. Try OCCT: https://www.ocbase.com/

Try the power stress test first, see if you can induce it quickly. Might also try the CPU/GPU stress tests. See what induces a failure the fastest.
