Misrepresentation of Warranty Coverage

I’ve been a loyal customer of Micro Center for over 15 years. Until now, I’ve always trusted your company to deliver fair value and honest service. That trust was broken when I attempted to use a warranty I was told covered accidental damage, only to be informed it didn’t.

At the time of purchase, your employee clearly stated that accidents would be covered under the warranty. That statement directly influenced my decision. When I returned with a damaged monitor, expecting the coverage I was sold, I was instead offered either a $20 credit or a refund of the $13 I paid for the warranty. I took the refund, not because it was fair, but because the alternative amounted to a $7 consolation prize for being misled.

This feels less like a misunderstanding and more like deception. If I sold someone a raffle ticket for a prize that didn’t exist, I’d be accused of fraud. Why is a major retailer allowed to operate under the same premise without accountability?

After 15 years of giving Micro Center my business, I now have zero desire to return. Not because of the money, but because it’s clear my loyalty means nothing.
