Tablet outer skin decaying, what can I do?

Options

Hello, I have been a MicroCenter shopper since 2005(ish). Years ago I bought a WinBook WP100 tablet. I've used it on and off, mostly for testing developed software.

Currently, I find that the tablet's outer black skin, made of a rubber/plastic compound, has begun to decay and has become sticky. I've seen this in other items. The material turns into this gooey mess.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to the skin? Some have mentioned to wrap it (just the skin) with contact paper; however, I am not sure if this is the solution. Any recommendations are welcomed! Thank you! Salvador

Yeah, that tends to happen to many older electronics. If the contact paper solution isn't ideal for you then I'd suggest maybe clearcoat nailpolish or maybe tape off the screen/plug the ports and hit it with some nontoxic spraypaint. Bonus is now you can decorate it however you want as well.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
