G911 won't initiate main display on boot with two monitors turned on

My G911's main display is a 55" TCL TV (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DVWXXRDL) connected to my 5080 via HDMI. I have a second smaller monitor is an Asus 27" (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZR9TMBJ) connected via DisplayPort. On system boot both the TV and second monitor are on (usually during a reboot). I get a pop up for my TV's resolution then nothing. If I turn off the smaller monitor, I can USUALLY get the TV screen to come on if I turn it off and on several times. However, if I reboot or do a cold start with just the TV running, everything works as expected.

Scratching my head. Any ideas?

Do you mean it doesn't boot at all or the screens are blank until you get to the windows login? It's typical for it to prioritize the DP, and you won't have dual monitors outside the OS. You should see the boot process on the 27" then see both in the normal orientation after you login.

  • No, if both screens are on the system appears to boot but nothing shows on the screens. Sometimes, I can turn off the smaller monitor (DP), turn the tv off and on, and it comes up. Othertimes, I just need to shut it down and just boot to the tv, then turn on the secondary monitor. If it's prioritizing DP it still isn't booting there first. Clearly though, the second smaller monitor is interfering with the video card connecting to the TV…thanks for the response

Next time this happens, check the debug LED's on the board. Also toggle your capslock and let me know if that works.
