Having Issues with nearly every purchase recently.
I've been having constant issues with purchases at the Paterson, NJ Microcenter. I've spoken to every manager and simply get the "we'll reach out" every time…no one has reached out, ever. In short, I turn to Microcenter when I need IT hardware ASAP and can't wait for shipping direct from vendors…the NJ location is about an hour from my office so it's a 2 hour trip to grab what ever I need. I have spent thousands of dollars at this location every year.
Issues:
- Most frequent issue is when I order for pickup, get email confirmation that the order is ready, only to be told (once I arrive) the amount of items I ordered are fully "not in stock" I will literally walk to the aisle, find the exact item I ordered, and bring it to the desk myself. I could understand if this was for an item where there was 1 or 2 devices, but we're talking 30+ in stock.
- Stopped in to pickup a Ubiquiti device, couldn't find it…asked an associate for help…they couldn't find it…roughly 30 minutes later we found out the item wasn't even close to where their website said, alongside other devices that have nothing to do with it.
- Purchased a piece of networking equipment that I 100% needed a warranty on. Told the cashier, they slap the keyboard so fast they skip the warranty option. I was in a rush and didn't want to stand there and "return" the device just to purchase it again. Immediately left.
- (This is partially my fault for not checking the item, as I was in a rush) Needed a mouse, had an exact model picked out. Told the associate the model and how much it was, they asked "white or black" I said black. They hand me the mouse, I run to the register to find out it's a mouse that cost twice as much…and was white.
- Purchased 3 laptops a few days ago, one was "open box" so I asked to inspect it. Looked good. Should have checked all 3, since 1 of the 2 sealed laptops had a USB-C charger included…the laptop does NOT use USB-C charging. Funny enough since I was spending so much a manager introduced themselves. I voiced my concerns and let them know every single visit in the last couple of months has led to issues.
- Finding an item on the website that has 10+ items in stock, avoiding the "order online" to avoid my first mentioned issue, then (I ALWAYS try to find the item myself since the associates are busy helping others) when I can't find the item I'm told "sometimes the website mentions items that are in their storage facility" what? Then why would you list the item as "in stock" at that location?
I love Microcenter, but the constant issues are making me want to avoid the store all together.
