Overkill build or missed value? 9950x3d, 5080
https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder-amd.aspx?k=1762816256081
It has been several years since I've tried my own build. The build is intended for multi-genre gaming, however I tend to be doing a lot in the background. Budget is $2.5k-3.5k USD, purchasing in the US.
I'm pushing two 1440p monitors, a primary 360hz for competitive and modern shooters (TF2, CS2, battlefield, etc) and a secondary 144hz ultrawide for mmos, rpgs, and other modern titles with higher graphical fidelity (lost ark, ffxiv, silent hill, etc).
I lean towards a 9950x3d, because I almost always have a dense browser with video playback going, discord with streams and streaming myself, spotify, and text editors going. Sometimes I'll stream on twitch or have an additional lightweight game going on the side/background.
