Why PowerSpec computer uses custom BIOS?
Options
in PowerSpec
What exactly is the reason that Microcenter uses a custom BIOS on Powerspec? Everything is off-the-shelf. Making a custom BIOS locks out users' ability to update from the manufacturers' BIOS updates. Can anyone care to comment? Thanks.

OEM requirements, some times to address compatibility issues and fix minor issues that exist commonly in a BIOS from a manufacturer. Fixing memory compatibility issues. We don't lock anything. The only one that's locked is our Gigabyte boards, but you can Q-Flash Plus to a retail BIOS.
