BIOS Update Query
Hello,
I have a PowerSpec B766 with ASRock Z890-C and an installed Radeon RX 9060 XT; I'm currently running BIOS 3.20.MC01 dated 2/11/2026. I'm experiencing intermittent Windows memory-corruption bugchecks including MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A), SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B), and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (0x50). MemTest86 passes four passes with zero errors both at JEDEC DDR5-4800 and XMP DDR5-6000, and the BSODs reproduce at JEDEC 4800. DISM/SFC and storage checks are clean. Does anyone know if there is a newer PowerSpec-approved BIOS for the B766/Z890-C, particularly one containing newer Intel microcode, ME, or memory/platform compatibility updates?

That's the latest right now, you shouldn't be experiencing memory instability with that module.
- Did this start right away? If not, did it start after adding the GPU?
- What's our VDIMM voltage? 1.35 or 1.25?
-
@PowerSpec_MikeW Thanks Mike;
I got the prebuilt base rig just under 4 weeks ago and installed the GPU immediately, so I've never run the rig without it — however, the BSODing has only been happening for the last week and a half or so. I believe VDIMM voltage is 1.35, but I'm not able to confirm that until I get back to the rig tonight. I'll do that when I can. Appreciate the help.

@PowerSpec_MikeW Just confirmed VDIMM voltage is clocking 1.35 under XMP. Specifically, the system seems to report expected values under XMP and JEDEC
DDR5-6000 / XMP Profile 1:
VDD2: 1.350 V
A2: VDD 1.350 V, VDDQ 1.365 V, VPP 1.800 V
B2: VDD 1.350 V, VDDQ 1.365 V, VPP 1.800 VDDR5-4800 / XMP Auto:
VDD2: 1.100 V
A2: VDD 1.095 V, VDDQ 1.110 V, VPP 1.800 V
B2: VDD 1.110 V, VDDQ 1.095 V, VPP 1.800 V -
If you go under the OC menu to select the XMP/EXPO profile. Is there a second profile that runs at 1.25V?
-
@PowerSpec_MikeW There doesn't seem to be a second profile that runs at 1.25 under either XMP or EXPO.
-
Can you run memtestx86 and tell me which tests fail?
-
@PowerSpec_MikeW
I can try rerunning Memtestx86s and let you know; I ran it through 4 passes on both JEDEC and XMP settings back on Sept. 8 and it cleared all passes with no error warnings on both JEDEC and XMP settings. I've been running on JEDEC settings and rolled back my AMD Drivers as I've heard there were instabilities on the latest update, and I haven't had any BSODing for the past 4 days. I had been curious if it was something to do with the AMD drivers. If the system keeps stable I might try switching back to XMP and testing the individual DIMMs if it BSODs again, unless there's other advice you have. -
It's instability, and XMP is a factor which makes RAM the most likely culprit. Memtestx86 should produce errors.
-
@PowerSpec_MikeW Very strange, yeah Memtextx86 is producing no errors through 4 passes on XMP.
