Making the jump from console to pc

So looking at getting my first gaming pc and really need help understanding the pc world. Right now I would need to get everything. Budget I'm looking to stay around $600-$800, with possibly a $1000 max. Games would be GTA 5 and shooting games mainly. Any help with a build would be appreciated. Thanks

This is INCLUDING the cost of Windows, and it puts you just over $800 before taxes. If you need to stay under $800 before tax, you could make some minor changes here and there like downgrading the PSU a bit and going down to the 1650 super for your video card:
