Gateway dx4370 Case
Hello everyone. Im rather new at this pc building and im in need of some help. Ive been trying to research what I can build in this case since I got it for free a couple of weeks ago. Only thing it has inside is the original motherboard, dvd drive and psu. My budget is $700-$850ish for now, im looking to be able to play American Truck Simulator, GTAV and maybe of Tomb Raider. What kind of motherboard/cpu/gpu combo would I be able to fit in there?

Hello PamploNation! Welcome to the Micro Center Community!
It looks like the motherboard that normally goes inside the case has a DTX form factor. Unfortunately we do not sell this form factor, but an ITX should definitely fit inside if you are fine with losing some memory slots. We do recommend however that switching cases might be something you may want to try as we cannot guarantee that the case follows the regular standoff setup for ITX motherboards.

A lot of these Pre-built PC use form factor that only works for that brand. For that budget range, I would say a R5 3600 or R5 2600X, a $80-$100ish motherboard. 16GB Ram and a RX5600XT.

So i should just ditch the case and get another one instead?

That would be my recommendation. While that case is technically functional, it's far behind what a lot of modern cases offer in terms of features, airflow and even aesthetic design. For as little as $50, you can get a really solid Micro ATX chassis from Cooler Master with a full mesh front panel that supports 240mm radiators for liquid cooling: https://www.microcenter.com/product/414482/cooler-master-n200-matx-mini-tower-computer-case---black. For another $20, the larger version supports full ATX boards: https://www.microcenter.com/product/606985/cooler-master-nr600-masterbox-tempered-glass-atx-mid-tower-computer-case---black.
This should slot in around $788 after $20 bundle discount, before taxes: https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder.aspx?load=4a701dcc-f430-40ed-b820-132395bf5ecf. Also remember this does not include the cost of Windows 10. If you wanted to go with the smaller chassis above and this smaller motherboard: https://www.microcenter.com/product/509732/asrock-b450m-pro4-amd-am4-matx-motherboard, you can save another $30, putting you around $758 after $20 discount and before taxes/Windows 10 cost.
I think a solid case is definitely worth the investment and will open up far more upgrade options in the future.
