How to enable the touchpad on a Lenovo IdeaPad Z400

This topic came up recently and we wanted to make sure we have accurate information available for people with these systems.

The touchpad can the IdeaPad Z400 (and most other laptops) can be toggled using the function keys. Sometimes when a computer goes to sleep, hibernate, or gets a Windows update it can potentially turn the touchpad off. To enable the touchpad:

1) Locate the F6 key on top of your keyboard. It should have a symbol that looks like the touchpad on it.
2) Hold down the FN key on the bottom of the keyboard, then tap F6.
3) The touchpad should turn on. This can be used to turn it back off as well in case you have an external mouse you're using.
