The list below are some of the most widely used keyboard shortcuts for Windows 10! These can help speed up your browsing, general computer use, or are just helpful reminders of quick ways to get actions done on your Windows 10 PC. 

Check them out:

  • Ctrl + C: Copy any selected text/images to your clipboard (clipboard is what temporarily stores copied images/text so you can then paste them)
  • Ctrl + X: Cut and copy any highlighted text/images
  • Ctrl + V: Paste any copied text/images from your clipboard
  • Ctrl + A: Select all (in the current window/document)
  • Ctrl + S: Save
  • Ctrl + Z: Undo an action
  • Ctrl + Y: Redo an action
  • Ctrl + B: Bold the selected text in a document
  • Ctrl + U: Underline the selected text in a document
  • Ctrl + I: Italicize the selected text in a document
  • Ctrl + F: Search for specific letters, numbers or words on the page/document
  • Ctrl + P: Print the current page/document
  • Ctrl + Shift + Esc: Opens Task manager
  • Ctrl + Alt + Del: Gives you the option to lock your computer, switch users, sign out, change your password or start task manager.
  • Ctrl + PrtScn: Take a screenshot and copy it to your clipboard
  • Ctrl + Windows key + left/right arrow: switch between multiple desktops
  • Windows key + R: Open the run dialogue box which allows you to open programs and files on your system by typing the name.
  • Windows key + E: Open File Explorer
  • Windows key + X: Open the Quick Access Menu
  • Windows key + I: Open Settings
  • Windows key + D : Show/hide the desktop background
  • Windows key + P: Opens the Project menu which allows you to configure your screen setup when using multiple monitors.
  • Windows key + L: Lock your screen
  • Windows key + H: Activate voice dictation (speech to text)
  • Alt + F4: Close the window currently open
  • Alt + Tab: Switch between open windows
  • Alt + Enter: Change a fullscreen application (typically video games) to windowed mode or back to fullscreen
