Disconnected from server

PC gaming noob here. When I try to load up a game(any game/any app) it allows me to get to the main menu on said game, but after about ten seconds I get disconnected with and error message saying “lost connection to server”. I tried to port forward COD Modern Warfare and Overwatch with no luck via router settings, Modern Warfare main menu even says “NAT type open”. Also disconnected my Xbox from my network. I don’t know what happened. Everything was working fine then one day I can’t play any games. Any and all help is appreciated!

Greetings @Complain.  Welcome to the MC Community!  Has this been happening since you purchased your computer or is this a more recent issue that started happening out of nowhere?  Are you connected via ethernet cable (hardwired) or operating your computer wirelessly to your network?

Definitely a more recent issue, within the last two weeks. Everything was working fine then one day I just couldn’t connect anymore. I’m currently operating on a WiFi card.

Try uninstalling/reinstalling your network drivers or performing a network reset. I'd also refer to microsoft's guide here for general network troubleshooting steps: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10741/windows-fix-network-connection-issues

That will help you rule out if it's a network issue on your computer. Beyond that, I would try disabling your firewall temporarily and see if that helps. If it does, try adding an exception for the games, if you haven't already done that. 

If you only started having this issue after a recent Windows update, try doing a system restore.
