An article on how to fix issues with the Windows Features from the Control panel not working properly in Windows 10 computers

Turning on Services

  1. Hold down the Windows key and press R to bring up the Run
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter to open the Services window.

  1. Double-click on the Windows Modules Installer.

  1. On the properties window for the Windows Modules Installer set the Startup type to Automatic. If it is not running at the time, click on the Start button on the window.

  1. Close out of the properties window and the Services window.

Run the System File Checker

  1. Go to the Type here to search and search for Command Prompt.

  1. Right-click on Command Prompt to bring up the option to Run as Administrator. It will prompt if you want to allow the application to make changes. Select Yes.

  1. Type in the following command in the Command Prompt: SFC /scannow

  1. The system file checker will now scan your system for any missing or corrupt files and will attempt to repair them.
  1. If nothing is found or System File Checker fails to repair it, you may need to proceed with using DISM.

Run the DISM

  1. When SFC is finished, type in the following command in the Command Prompt: DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

  1. The system will now attempt to repair the Component Store. If it detects anything, it will inform you through the scan.
