Last November we created the Build Showcase as a way for customers to show off their completed PCs. After seeing how people were using it, we realized there was some confusion, so we redesigned it and added some additional features we think will help:
1) Simpler Architecture
We separated its dependency from the Custom PC builder, so you can create a build page without having to put a parts list together first.
2) One Page Entry Form
In the Build Center, when you click the Create New Build button it takes you to a single page where you can enter everything about your build, and upload photos.
3) Receipt Import
If you've recently purchased your computer parts from Micro Center, you can import them by entering your receipt number. This makes it MUCH easier to import them into this entry form. You can select the specific parts you wish to important, or add them all, even your snacks!
4) Parts List Import
If you're like me, you'll have created multiple parts lists as part of your research. When creating a build page, you can use the drop down list and select from one of the parts list you previously created, instead of entering the parts again manually.
Hopefully these changes make it clearer and easier to use. Let us know if you have any feedback, we're always open to ideas from our community.
Thanks
Reuben
