Is MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX 3rd Gen Ryzen Compatible?

I have heard yes and no all over the place, just curious if this motherboard is compatible with a Ryzen 5 3600.

Hello @jordokream! Welcome to the Community. 

The answer is yes if the BIOS on the motherboard is updated to support the 3rd gen Ryzen processors. At this point, most all the B450 boards will be updated and compatible out of box, and will be designated with a label like this:



If that's there, it means the board is updated already. If not, you'll need to update the BIOS, which we can do at our service desk for you, or you can do yourself with a first or second generation Ryzen CPU.

Thank you so much for the quick reply!! I do have this mother board reserved for pickup tomorrow. If that is not on the box I can have someone do it for me?

You can bring the board to the service/repair desk we can take care of it, but there will probably be a $29.99 labor charge.
