I have a Brother MFC-J497DW and the printer is not reading that the black has been installed. What would Micro Center charge to check and replace the ink sensor if that is the case?

Unfortunately we actually don't repair printers, so this isn't a service we can provide. If the printer is still under warranty you could contact Brother to see if they can do an RMA.
