Upgrading to an SSD

Is installing one easy? Or should I just pay a tech to do the installation for me?

Hello @Neach! Welcome to the Community.
SSD upgrade/installation is $99.99 for labor.
In my opinion, SSD installation is not that difficult, depending on what kind of system you have. For most desktop systems it's fairly simple, you simply need to mount it in the right slot and plug the cables into your motherboard. For a laptop, depending on how it's designed it could be a little more complicated and time consuming, but it just depends on your specific model. I would look on youtube for some tutorials or guides and see you feel about it.
