Monitor screen

I just build a new pc and everything seem to be working for the most part but I’m not able to get a picture to show up on my monitor. I try putting a HDMI in to it. That didn’t help. So I’m trying to see if I did something wrong or if I need to just come in to micro center to get it look at. The motherboard I’m using is a ASRock Z270 Gaming K4.
