White screen of death. HDD is very likely and I can provide information on repair here, however we do not typically quote repair pricing in our forum. We would have you visit service for an accurate estimate on that.
As for the repair with an iMac there are two ways to go about this. The expensive method is to find an Apple OEM drive with the temp sensor pins. The inexpensive way is to buy any SATA drive off the shelf and install it. The problem this creates is the fans will run at 100% RPM and it's quite noisy. There is a free version. Set your HDD fan RPM to about 50% and it'll run fine.
