End of life Asus Chromebook

I bought a Chromebook in Chicago, and wasn't told it had a 5 year life--two years of which had already gone by. Now I've gotten word from Google that the C100P will be at end of life by the end of July. I've seen various articles that say the device can be booted into Linux, but that it requires removing a R/W pin from inside. Is this a hardware fix you provide?

Greetings. I do apologize, our Micro Center stores do not perform hardware repairs on Chromebooks.
