mini itx gaming / work rig

Hello. I have a price range of around 2 grand. I am completely in love with the nzxt h1 case and I want an rtx 2080 super (if it fits) I'm not very experienced with mini itx systems and im relatively new to building systems as a whole. What would be an awesome build list for this case to have a great gaming system as well as something that can run my labbing programs for networking for my school.

I already have a couple monitors and my keyboard and mouse. I'm looking for a portable build to travel between cities as I move around a lot!

Hello @Jameson863! Welcome to the Community. 

Do you have a preference on Intel vs AMD for your system? If the software you use is better for one vs the other that will change the recommendations. For your video card, the H1 has pretty good clearances and if you're set on the 2080 Super I'd recommend the EVGA RTX 2080 Super KO. It's a 2-slot card that should fit nicely inside the case.

Alright, I'd probably do something like this:

I wasn't sure exactly what you'd need for RAM/storage requirements, so I played it safe and put in 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, paired with the i5-10600k for the CPU. Since the case comes with an integrated 650W PSU and a 140mm AIO liquid cooler for the CPU we don't have to worry about those which is nice. 

If what you're doing requires more cores/threads on your CPU, you could always drop down the storage/RAM a bit and bump your CPU up to something like an i7-10700/K. 

For motherboards, the three ITX options we carry are all pretty solid: ASUS Z490-I ROG Strix, MSI Z490I MEG Unify and Gigabyte Z490I Aorus Ultra. I would choose the one that has the features and I/O that matches up best with your wants and needs.
