2nd HDD Not Detected

Options
I purchased a Refurbished Hp EliteDesk 800 GA SFF; it came with a KingFast SSD; I installed a new Seagate 2TB Sata drive and it is not detected by the desktop.  I have used SATA 0, 1 & 2, still my 2nd hdd is not detected.  What else can I try.  At this point, I'm ready to return everything I purchased from Microcenter and go somewhere else.

    Hello @Netta30

Just to double check, you are connecting two cables to the HDD?  One is a SATA Cable coming from the Power Supply and another is a SATA 3 Cable connecting it to the motherboard?

SATA cable and power connected to it?
Then, when you go in Device Manager, do you even see it?

To add on to what the previous two posters said, if you DO have both cables plugged in, open up disk management on your computer and see if it allows you to initialize and format it. Brand new drives are completely blank and you have to initialize and format them first before they're usable by Windows.

If you're on Windows 10 you can get to disk management by right-click your start button and selecting it from the menu.
