Laptop/chromebook & printer recs

Looking for wisdom - I need a light portable device to use for school & business and a printer/scanner for home/business use. I have a desktop for home use - photos&videos/games/web browsing but need something to bring Quicken to PTA meetings, run in person presentations from, attend virtual meetings and maintain school files. I would like the printer to have a capability to produce high quality photo prints and not drain my budget on ink.

If you're running programs like Quicken or other office software, a Chromebook isn't going to work, you'll need to use a standard laptop. There's a lot of options that can work for that type of thing, if you can give us a budget we can link a few that would be good to start with.
As for your printer, I think the most cost-effective ink option longterm is likely the Epson Ecotank printers, since they don't use cartridges and you can just fill them up with bottles of ink manually. However the printers themselves are a little more expensive than normal, so there's a bit of a tradeoff. Long-term I think the ink savings can make up for it.

I'm looking to spend less than 700 on a laptop. A friend suggested an Acer swift. I also prefer one that's not going to need replacing in 2-3 years.

This link will give you all the laptops we carry between $500-750:

There's a lot of good options on that list. This Lenovo would be my personal first choice:

And since you mentioned the Acer, we have one in that price range as well:

I am looking for a printer that works with the new Samsung Galaxy Chromebooks for my kids. I prefer one that uses ink and not cartridge. If possible, holds up to 500 sheets of paper. What printer do you recommend? Thank you for your assistance.

Pretty much any printer will work with a Chromebook. If you're looking to use something with Ink, but not individual cartridges, the Epson Ecotank printers would still be my recommendation to start with.
