Windows would not boot from/recognize SSD. Reseating on the MB did not solve the problem. Moved to an external enclosure which temporarily fixed the problem after running system restore. Windows begins to freeze/crash regularly, reseating SSD in enclosure temporarily solved the problem until now. Currently SSD is completely undetected, tried attaching to another computer to check. Tried Samsung Magician software, it detects the enclosure but says there is no Media. Is this drive just dead, is there anyway to recover data from it. Will replacing with a new drive solve my problem or is it possible there is something wrong on the MB that fried this drive in the first place. Pretty sure its no longer under microcenter warranty, but is there as Samsung warranty that still applies?

  • Hello @JRThoreau, welcome to the Micro Center Community!

The drive is starting to sound dead, can you connecting it to another computer so we can confirm that another computer is unable to see it.  It may be possible to recover the data from it however it would start with a memory diagnostic to see if it is even possible.

Unfortunately, with prebuilts like this, there is no manufacturer warranty on the parts.  They would be covered by the manufacturer warranty of the people who prebuilt it and I was able to view your purchase history with your email.  Unfortunately, it is out of the manufacturer warranty as it was purchased in 2018.
