Update on return policy for VR headsets

Hi, I was wondering if there is/will be an update to the return policy for VR headsets? I've been wanting to return my headset for some time now, it's been sitting in the box for probably a month.

Is the headset defective? We're able to accept returns if the headset is defective and it's covered by the return period or a replacement plan, otherwise the policy has not changed and we have no updates on when it may.

It's not defective but when I bought it the store said I could return it once they started accepting returns on VR headsets. I don't think anyone anticipated it taking this long though, is there any way I could contact the store and see if they will make an exception?

As of right now there are no exceptions, the reason this policy is in place is to adhere to COVID safety guidelines so we have to be very strict with it.
