R5 5600x vs. R7 3800x

Hi,
I am upgrading my pc soon and was hoping for some feedback regarding which CPU I should buy... 

The new ryzen 5 does have more IPC but still has less cores.

The ryzen 7 has more cores and threads, but has less IPC.

I am using my computer for gaming, streaming, video editing, and homework. Any feedback would be appreciated!

If you are looking to get into streaming and content creation, the additional cores and threads will be more beneficial than increased single threaded performance done by increased IPC.  I think the 3800X will be a better option based off current information we know but I would also wait for benchmarks for the 5600X to come out with more information on it.
