Displayport not working

Just got a new desktop - I told the builder I needed to run 2 displays via HDMI- they said no problem - you have an HDMI and a DisplayPort.
No matter what DisplayPort adapter cable I use - I do not get a signal from the DisplayPort. The same setup works fine ( with the DisplayPort adapter ) and both monitors are in use on the Dell extender for my laptop. Is there a firmware switch I need to turn on to enable the DisplayPort? I'd be happy to go to St David's with my desktop and monitors to get this working correctly - please help - I need 2 monitors!

Hey, @Ozzie Could you give us a bit more info about your build? Do you have a GPU that you're plugged into? or is this specifically using the integrated graphics on a CPU?
